The task: DA is 40%, HRA is 20% and PF is 12% of Basic. The rates sit in one table so they can change. Find the net salary.
1 Watch how it is done
Step 1: DA = Basic × DA rate
=B4*$I$4- Click C4.
- Type =B4*$I$4 and press Enter. The $ keeps I4 fixed.
- Drag the fill handle down.
Step 2: HRA = Basic × HRA rate
=B4*$I$5- Click D4.
- Type =B4*$I$5 and press Enter.
- Drag the fill handle down.
Step 3: PF = Basic × PF rate
=B4*$I$6- Click E4.
- Type =B4*$I$6 and press Enter.
- Drag the fill handle down.
Step 4: Net = Basic + DA + HRA − PF
=B4+C4+D4-E4- Click F4.
- Type =B4+C4+D4-E4 and press Enter.
- Drag the fill handle down.
