The task: Make a result sheet: total marks, percentage, and Pass or Fail (pass mark 40%).
1 Watch how it is done
Step 1: Add the marks
=SUM(B4:D4)- Click E4.
- Type =SUM(B4:D4) and press Enter.
- Drag the fill handle down.
Step 2: Find the percentage
=E4/300- Click F4.
- Type =E4/300 and press Enter (300 = 3 subjects × 100).
- Drag the fill handle down.
Step 3: Pass or Fail
=IF(F4>=40%,"Pass","Fail")- Click G4.
- Type =IF(F4>=40%,"Pass","Fail") and press Enter.
- Drag the fill handle down.
