The task: Find the highest mark, the lowest mark and the class average.

1 Watch how it is done

  1. Step 1: Find the highest mark

    =MAX(B4:B11)

    • Click the cell next to Highest.
    • Type =MAX(B4:B11) and press Enter.
  2. Step 2: Find the lowest mark

    =MIN(B4:B11)

    • Click the cell next to Lowest.
    • Type =MIN(B4:B11) and press Enter.
  3. Step 3: Find the class average

    =AVERAGE(B4:B11)

    • Click the cell next to Average.
    • Type =AVERAGE(B4:B11) and press Enter.
