How to Unhide All Rows in Excel (and columns) in one go

Rows 2 and 3 are missing and you cannot find where to click. Select everything and unhide once.

Steps: unhide all rows

1. Click the triangle at the top-left corner of the sheet (above row 1, left of column A). The whole sheet is selected. Or press Ctrl + A twice.
2. Press Ctrl + Shift + 9.

Every hidden row reappears.

Unhide all columns

Same selection, then Ctrl + Shift + 0. If that shortcut does nothing (Windows sometimes grabs it), right-click any column letter › Unhide.

Unhide just one row

Select the rows either side of it (drag across the row numbers), right-click › Unhide.

Check it worked

Row numbers run 1, 2, 3, 4 with no gaps.

Rows still missing? Three causes

A filter is on. Row numbers are blue. Press Ctrl + Shift + L to turn the filter off, or Data › Clear.

Row height is zero. Select all, Home › Format › Row Height › type 15 › OK.

Frozen panes hide them. Rows above the freeze line scrolled out of view. View › Freeze Panes › Unfreeze.

Hide rows again

Select the rows, Ctrl + 9. Columns: Ctrl + 0.
