How to Unhide Sheets in Excel (one or all at once)

Unhide a sheet

  1. Right-click any sheet tab.
  2. Click Unhide.
  3. Pick the sheet and click OK.

Unhide all at once

In Microsoft 365 the Unhide box lets you select several: click the first, Shift+click the last, OK. Older versions unhide one at a time — use this macro instead:

Sub UnhideAll()
    Dim ws As Worksheet
    For Each ws In ThisWorkbook.Worksheets
        ws.Visible = xlSheetVisible
    Next ws
End Sub

How to run it: write a macro.

From the ribbon

Home › Format › Hide & Unhide › Unhide Sheet.

Unhide is greyed out?

  • No hidden sheets. Perhaps it’s rows or columns that are hidden: unhide all rows.
  • Workbook is protected. Review › Protect Workbook, enter the password to switch it off.
  • Very hidden sheet. Open the VBA editor and set Visible to -1 - xlSheetVisible.

All the tabs are gone?

That’s a setting, not hidden sheets: File › Options › Advanced › Show sheet tabs. Also drag the scroll bar’s left edge to the right — it can cover the tabs.
