How to Remove Hyperlinks in Excel (all at once)

Remove one link

Right-click the cell › Remove Hyperlink. The text stays.

Remove all links at once

  1. Select the cells — or Ctrl+A for the whole sheet.
  2. Right-click › Remove Hyperlinks.

Home › Clear › Remove Hyperlinks does the same. Clear Hyperlinks keeps the blue underline style; Remove clears it too.

Links made by the HYPERLINK formula

These aren’t removed that way. Copy the cells › Paste Special › Values. See HYPERLINK.

Stop automatic links

  1. File › Options › Proofing › AutoCorrect Options.
  2. AutoFormat As You Type tab.
  3. Untick Internet and network paths with hyperlinks.

Just once: press Ctrl+Z straight after Excel turns it blue.

Links to other workbooks

Formulas pointing at other files are a different kind of link: Data › Edit Links › Break Link.

Adding links instead: link to another sheet
